PK - Fall 2026 Legacy Tree Program

Leavenworth is fortunate to have over 400 acres of park land throughout the city. Trees provide beauty, shade, and environmental benefits. Many of trees in our parks are old and beginning to die or show signs of decay or disease. Through this program, old trees will be replaced and new areas rejuvenated. All contributions to this program are placed in the Park Special Gift Fund and are only used for the planting of Legacy Trees. Legacy Tree Program supporters will be able to see their contributions live on in each tree that is planted. This program makes it possible to help preserve the rich history of trees in our parks while commemorating either a special person or event.

If you have any questions, please email parksandrec@leavenworthks.gov.

Note:

When you buy a tree, our Parks and Recreation Department will order the tree and plaque, plant the tree, and maintain the tree as part of our regular park maintenance program. If your tree needs to be replaced due to damage or disease, the fee covers one replacement tree. The fee is $325 per tree.

Once you have completed payment for this tree, the Parks and Recreation Department's arborists will contact you to help you select a planting location, date, and tree species. For Fall plantings, form must be received by 11/1.
