Programs
Pre-requisite: Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted. During the summer season, the Riptides compete in the East Kansas Swim League which is made up of eight other teams. The team competes with Bonner Springs, Gardner, Piper, Tonganoxie, Eudora, Lansing, DeSoto and the Lakes Team (Lake of the Forest and Lake Quivira). All swimmers, ages 5-18 years, compete in their own age group against swimmers of equal ability. The coaching staff places emphasis on skill development, improving stroke mechanics, and fun! Practices are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Meets are on Fridays.
Note:
Practice begins on Memorial Day at 8 a.m. at Wollman Aquatic Center. Parent (or other team member family) participation at swim meets is expected.
